LNPC celebrates being an intergenerational community with a delightfully broad range of ages in our midst! We believe everyone contributes to the whole, and we value each voice.
Worship

Children's space in the sanctuary
We all worship together, and children participate in meaningful ways in worship services, often in leadership roles. We recognize that they participate as children, (wiggles, giggles and all), and they learn by absorbing the rhythms of community life and worship.
There is an area of the sanctuary especially designed for little ones, with quiet activities that children can enjoy during worship. Each week the “Children’s Host” is available to sit with children or take kids to play in the nursery who may need a break from the service.
When we are gathered as guests at Christ’s table children are full participants in communion (at the discretion of their parents).
Hospitality
Sunday school for all ages of children meets on 1st & 3rd Sunday mornings at 9 am. In creative and interactive ways, the children explore the stories and scriptures that we will all explore in worship at 10:30. They also create a prayer each week which is used in Worship that Sunday.

Teenagers and adults learn from one another in Adult Ed. The Confirmation class meets 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 4:00 pm, and the students prepare questions for the discussion with adults the following Sunday.
Kids stand side by side with adults helping to set up or clean up dinner on Saturday evenings, and often lead the prayers before the meal. Their art hangs in our Gathering Room, and their questions and energy are welcomed among us.
We know that God meets us when we encounter each other. The children among us are sometimes our greatest reminders of this.
Sabbath
Children have a natural openness to wonder and mystery, and a deep appreciation for prayer.
We have been amazed at the children’s growing capacity to appreciate silence and honor sacred space when we gather on Saturday evenings, and the meals are a time of laughter and connection for all. We celebrate that the children among us are experiencing the importance of intentional rest and renewal in our lives as individuals and a community.
And – the significance of “Sabbath Sundays” for our families can not be overstated. It really is like a bonus day, a gift of time dedicated to enjoying life and being instead of doing.
