I experienced God last Wednesday at Dinner Party when the kids and I were washing dishes in the church kitchen. I asked what their favorite things to sing in church were, and before I knew it, amidst the suds and sponges, we were singing together. The moment felt so unexpected and so holy, and I was filled with delight and deep gratitude.

Just when I needed a mental break a Mom friend posted about the extra flowers she had for an arrangement or two. So she is dropping it by later with flowers in my favorite color.

A friend lost a dear neighbor this week to an unexpected heart attack. The friend, her husband, and 12 year old daughter saw this neighbor as way more than a neighbor, but as a stand-in grandparent for all of them because they don't have any supportive elders in their lives. It reminded me that we always belong to each other.

I did something stupid and thoughtless in an interaction with a friend this week. I realized it right away, apologized, she accepted my apology, and things moved on. But the next morning she texted to say, "I know you're probably still thinking about what happened" — I 100% was! — "and I want to let you know it really is OK." Not just forgiveness but an extra measure of grace.
