Resources for Kids

STAMPED! Racism, Antiracism, and You. by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi (a remix of the National Book Award Winning Stamped From the Beginning)

Jen Martin shared:

This was a video on Robby's Seesaw assignments today. I think it can be a resource if needed for children and some adults quite frankly.
Something Happened In Our Town

One of Robby's favorites is Ordinary People Change the World Audiobooks Set. They are biographies of historical figures that start as young children and tells their story into adulthood. It introduces younger children 5-9 to many topics in history including equality for all. Robby really likes: Billie Jean King, Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King Jr. and Sonia Sotomayor. I like that they have Helen Keller, Harriet Tubman, Jim Henson, Jane Goodall and Gandhi. There are some hard moments like in the Rosa Parks biography. However, it is well done. It is worth every penny.

I found this to be helpful -- and a lot of it very recognizable both personally and in terms of organizations I am/have been a part of:
